Twins catcher and noted defensive specialist Jason Castro will miss the remainder of the 2018 after major surgery on the meniscus in his knee. Manager Paul Molitor made the announcement Wednesday. Team medical staffers originally thought Castro would be out for 4-6 weeks, but during Tuesday’s procedure surgeons discovered the tear was far larger than originally thought. Second-year catcher Mitch Garver and veteran Bobby Wilson will handle the catching chores in his absence.
