Rick Ross is being sued for allegedly ripping off his Maybach Music Group marketing strategy and tagline. Ross founded his record label, an imprint of Atlantic, back in 2009 but a rapper named Young Muhammad claims Rozay lifted the name from his 2007 song “Caprice Music.” Muhammad, formally known as Ishaq R. Muhammad, threatened to sue Ross over the catchphrase back in September 2017. The case is going to a small claims court, where Muhamad is asking for $9,999 for the alleged theft of his intellectual property. Roc Nation is also involved in the suit for endorsing Maybach Music Group since its inception. Ross will be headlining his Australian tour this fall and stars in Director X’s debut feature film Superfly, a remake of the 1972 classic, which hits theaters on July 15.
