With rumors flying that New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels may become head coach of the Green Bay Packers, McDaniels put the story to rest. McDaniels announced on Tuesday that he would not be taking any more head coaching interviews and will be returning to the Patriots next year, saying: “the book is closed. I’m completely focused on the Chargers and our season, finishing strong, and I’ll be here moving forward.”
Last offseason, McDaniels had agreed to become the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, before changing course and deciding to return to the Patriots. There were also some rumors this offseason that McDaniels wanted to coach the Cleveland Browns and go back to his home state. However for now, McDaniels focus is getting the offense ready for the Patriots game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.
