The late Mac Miller would have turned 27 on Saturday, January 19 and friends and family turned to social media to honor the musician.
On social media, many took the time to honor Mac (born Malcolm James McCormick). His ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande issued a simple “miss u” tweet, while frequent collaborator and close friend Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner shared several photos of Miller. Juicy J, Hi-Tek, Lil B, Odd Future’s Mike G and more sent their birthday wishes as well.
Miller passed away last September at his home in Los Angeles, just as he was preparing to go on tour in support of what would become his final album, Swimming. That album has been nominated for a posthumous Grammy Award in the Best Rap Album category; his parents will be on hand to collect the award at the February 10 ceremony in the event he wins.
