Plane Crash Claims Life of Colorado Springs Man

A Colorado Springs man has been identified as the person killed in a Fremont County plane crash on Sunday.

The Fremont County Coroner’s Office says 39-year-old David Merritt died when a small aircraft crashed just after taking off from the Fremont County Airport.

2 people along with Merritt were reportedly on an instructional flight when it crashed on Department of Corrections property in Canon City.

The conditions have not been released for the other 2 people involved in the crash.
