Columbia firefighters say Monday morning’s fire at a single-story duplex on North Willowbrook drive was an accidental fire that started in a clothes dryer.
While the two occupants declined medical care after the fire, CFD says one cat died and that two kittens are unaccounted for. Columbia firefighters say they arrived on-scene without four minutes at about 7:55 am on Monday and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the duplex.

Columbia firefighters were able to contain the fire within 15 minutes of arriving.
