UPDATE: Columbia babysitter convicted of second degree murder for 2021 death

A Boone County jury deliberated for about an hour on Thursday before convicting a Columbia babysitter of second degree murder and two other felonies.

49-year-old Jennifer Johnson will be sentenced on February 23 by Boone County Circuit Judge Brouck Jacobs for the April 2021 death of eight-month-old Hannah Kent. Johnson was also convicted of two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
