Columbia’s city council has voted 4-3 to reject the proposed Ashford Place project, which involves 77 single-family attached dwelling units near Sagemoor drive.
Residents from the nearby Brooks subdivision pushed for the council to reject the plan, warning about induced traffic from additional dwellings. Opponents also have safety concerns with the project. Supporters say the project is needed for additional housing in Columbia.

Our news partner ABC-17 reports Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and Council members Valerie Carroll, Vera Elwood and Betsy Peters voted against Ashford Place. Council members Jacque Sample, Nick Foster and Donald Waterman voted for the project.
