March 19, 2026 ~ Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard discusses what Oakland County is offering to houses of worship.DETROIT, MICH. ~ In light of the Temple Israel attack, the Oakland County Sherriff’s office is providing free security training classes to prevent more events like what happened in West Bloomfield. According to Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Temple Israel was one of the worship places to receive previous training in December 2025, and it ultimately helped the casualty number to come out to one, which was only the attacker himself. In the span of a year, three places of worship in Michigan have been targets of attacks.
